Letter from the PTO
Hi everyone! I hope the year has gotten off
to a smooth start for your kids!
We have lots of fun activities to look forward to, and we need lots of
ATTENTION brought to the current events of the Fayette County Board of
Education. As you know, the school board is considering closing two
elementary schools (Brooks being a strong possibility), in an attempt to
balance the budget. As PTO officers, we will fight this loudly! We hope to
see you at school this Thursday at 6pm for our first PTO meeting and Open
House. We will provide you with some facts surrounding the board’s decision
process, as well as our plan of action to influence the decision.
Remember, you may take the stakeholders survey regarding the
budget-balancing attempts until September 16th. Anyone in the community can
take the survey. It’s found on fcboe.org. Brooks must make its’ voice be
heard!!!!
Also, please mark your calendars if you would like to attend the FCBOE
meeting on September 19th at 7pm. To our understanding, the board may review
the results of the county survey. As PTO officers, we plan to present to the
board with our reasons why Brooks Elementary should NOT be closed.
Hope to see you Thursday night at Open House!
